3D/4D Baby Imaging in Tasmania – Tasmanian Baby Directory

Did you know that Love at First Sight in Launceston are offering 3D and 4D non-diagnostic ultrasounds so that expectant mums and families can enjoy a unique bonding experience of meeting their unborn baby?

This ultrasound gives mums and dads an indication of what their little one looks like inside. This  cutting edge technology enables you to see baby’s little fingers, toes facial features and maybe even yawning.

We combine 3D pictures with real time movement to create the magic of 4Dimension imaging, giving you a precious memento of this beautiful time of your life to treasure forever. This will be your pregnancy’s most memorable moment, a glimpse of your baby in the peace and comfort of the womb.

Love at First Sight 3D/4D Baby imaging is driven to provide outstanding customer service and will arrange free return visits, should the baby not be in the best position on the day.

On completion of a scan, you will receive a DVD with selected photo images taken during the scan, and a 4D recording of baby moving. You can also select a printed black and white photo to take home with them on the day.

FAQ

What is 4D ultrasound?

This technology adds the fourth dimension of motion to the 3D image, resulting in real time movement.

Is 3D / 4D ultrasound scanning safe?

Extensive studies over the past 35 years have found that ultrasound has not shown any harmful effects to mother or baby. 3D / 4D ultrasound uses the exact same intensity as a normal 2D ultrasound. No ultrasound uses any type of radiation or harmful agents; the images are simply created with the use of sound waves.

Are you able to tell the sex of the baby?

In some cases we can provide an indication of the sex of the baby. We cannot, however, guarantee that the baby will cooperate during your session. Certain factors such as body tissue content, developmental stage and foetal position all affect the ability to successfully determine sex.

Is there a Medicare/private health insurance rebate?

No because this is an elective, non-diagnostic procedure.

How much does the ultrasound cost?

Please visit our website to view the packages we have available.

When is the best time to have a 3D/4D ultrasound?

That depends on what you are looking to see. Many mothers like coming in as early as 20 weeks when they can see the baby as a whole, however we recommend between 25-32 weeks which will give you more detail of babies features. Between 28 and 32 weeks, your baby develops more fat and gets a more defined face. After 32 weeks, it becomes more and more difficult to obtain good pictures since the baby is running out of room. However all babies are different and 4D imaging can be successful up to 34 weeks.
